Connecting Survivors With Tools and Expertise
On October 14, the Building Industry Association of Southern California (BIASC), together with the Builders for Better Communities Foundation, hosted the Rebuild LA Resource Fair in Pasadena. Designed as a one‑stop event, the fair connected wildfire survivors with specialists in fire‑resistant materials, insurance claims, permits, and the complex steps of reconstruction. Guests also enjoyed complimentary appetizers, networking opportunities, and practical consultations.
BIASC’s Centennial Commitment to Communities
BIASC, celebrating its 100th anniversary, emphasized its long history of building homes in Southern California and its dedication to supporting families in recovery. The association launched the Rebuild LA Alliance to coordinate long‑term recovery, bringing together builders, contractors, and goodwill ambassadors. CEO Jeff Montejano highlighted the importance of the association’s mission during this milestone year.
Williams Rebuild’s Role in Emotional Recovery
Patrice Quishenberry, vice president of Williams Homes/Williams Rebuild, underscored the emotional significance of beginning again: “The first step in the recovery process is the most important, and the most cathartic.” Alongside Melissa Auten of HomeAid Orange County/Los Angeles, Quishenberry serves as a key contact for survivors seeking assistance beyond the fair.
